I love coffee. Sometimes people try to switch my coffee to decaf when I’m not looking. I can always tell the difference. I also like Pringles, but only the reduced fat kind because they crunch better when you bite into them and they don’t leave grease on your fingers. I’m…

When I was looking to buy my wedding invitations (back in April), I found a lot of designers on Etsy. After narrowing it down to a couple different designs/companies, I contacted both for their pricing list. One was pretty significantly more expensive–almost $2 per invitation more. Which I think all…

When talking to people about photography, I hear one phrase over and over again: Kids and dogs are the hardest subjects to photograph.
I, personally, don’t have this problem with my clients…kids and dogs are among my favorite things to photograph. Maybe it’s because I like to have any excuse…

Last week, Sean and I had our morning coffee on the balcony and watched as the Enterprise shuttle was pulled down the Hudson on a tug boat. It’s on its way to the Intrepid and I can’t wait to see it up close at the museum!

Betrayal

Sean and I are watching Sister Act on TV right now…and I just discovered that the sweet, shy red headed character’s (Sister Mary Roberts?) voice was DUBBED. That wasn’t her singing!!

I feel so betrayed…all these years I looked up to that actress, thinking she was oh so talented. And she was featured in Newsies too (the all time BEST and underappreciated movie in the world!) as a singer.

I just…I can’t…I can’t handle this right now. Must take the evening to digest this information.

this post was nerdier and dorkier than anything that could ever be uttered at ComiCon… just sayin =o)

  2. Colleen Says:

I’ve never claimed NOT to be a nerd. I’m just a different breed.

  3. TJ Says:

If she was in Newsies, it was uncredited b/c it doesn’t appear on her IMDb resume. I was trying to figure out who she played, but nanda. Either that or she was an extra and they missed it - which I suppose is possible since WE’RE both on there. I’m not sure if that means they are incredibly thorough or that their standards are lax, but but they usually get the actors right. Maybe we should have Christian Bale write them a letter? I’ve heard he gets results…

Then again, maybe her face just was dubbed on as well? The horror, the horror! PROFESSIONAL, PEOPLE! Jesus…

Incidentally, YOUR IMDb page is looking rather anemic as well. Don’t you have some producer stuff you can throw on there?

  5. TJ Says:

    Ooooooooh. Not good news…for you.

The actress who sings to the little kids in Newsies is credited as JoAnn Harris. You can find her resume here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0364860/

Good news for Jo Ann Harris, though. That’s TWO betrayals!

  6. Colleen Says:

Yeah, the woman who sing about her lost son. I can’t handle it…

My IMDb page blows. I tried to get them to update it and add a photo a few years ago and…well, they didn’t. I had to somehow prove that I was really me and I didn’t know how to do that without revealing my SS number or something else that would be a bad idea. It may be easier to do that now…I should try again.

If you’re a registered site user - which requires just an email address, kinda like this one - you can submit suggested updates to any page. The site reviews the information for accuracy (I hope) and then publishes the information for all the world to admire. And there’s nothing to prevent you from submitting updates to your own page; though, they can only verify projects that have already been released. This seems to work best if you already have a page started by the site, which you do. I once tried to submit information for a co-worker who wasn’t listed and it didn’t take. You also have to be sort of famous to get a free picture. You can use the paid version and update your own, but personally I think people’s time would be better spent actually going to auditions and findng an agent. Who casts via IMDb anyway?

  8. Jewels Says:

what???? no. no. no. no. no. seriously???

:( a part of me is kind of sad.

I don’t remember her in Newsies though. [The best Christian Bale movie EVER, although I'm sure he'd rather forget about it]

  9. Colleen Says:

I know! I felt the same way when I learned the truth. ::sigh::

And as for Newsies, I’m starting to second guess myself because no one remembers her. But, I THINK she was the mother at the very beginning of the movie searching the newsies for her lost son, “Patrick.” I could totally sing the whole “solo” part for you if you were here right now BECAUSE I KNOW IT BY HEART!

I think I may have to pop in some Newsies now that I have the song in my head…
