Here’s a video featuring my editor’s picks from the beautiful and sweet Liz’s boudoir session! Click on the link and watch the video!
For the months of May and June, I’m running a joint Mother’s and Father’s Day special for Glamour and Boudoir photography sessions! You’ll receive 50% off of my session fee!!! This fee includes my photography time (usually about 60 minutes for a session), full hair and makeup by one of my extremely talented makeup artists, editing and retouching of your images and a DVD slideshow set to music of your photographs. This session fee is normally $499, but for these two months, they will be only $249.
I know, right! Crazy!
Boudoir photography is changing the face of contemporary woman portraiture–it is not a centerfold picture of you in lingerie. It’s a sensual portrait of yourself…in whatever way you define sexy. That hot little black dress that always sits at the back of closet? BRING IT! The pair of jeans that whenever you put them on makes your hips swing a little more? Let’s do it! That lacy piece of lingerie you could never get the courage to wear? Well, now’s the time!
For men giving as a gift next weekend, email me! I’ll get you set up immediately so that mom has a gift card to open on Mother’s Day.
For the mom’s out there…giving the photos as a secret gift to dad? Let’s schedule your shoot asap so that he can have something to unwrap (other than you!) on Father’s Day!
I heard a quote today. It went as follows:
“People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did.
But they will NEVER forget the way you made them feel!”
My business model has shifted slightly. I still photograph family and babies and newborns and maternity–but after July of 2012, I will no longer be photographing weddings and events. Instead, my focus will be on boudoir and glamour photography–what I otherwise like to call the contemporary portrait.
It will be a whole experience. You and I will have a consultation where we will put together ideas and storyboards. The day of your session will be a day of pampering. You’ll have your hair and makeup done while sipping champagne and nibbling on cheese and strawberries. Afterwards, we’ll meet for happy hour and go through your images where you will choose your favorites and decide on the best options for dispaly for you–whether that’s in a small album tucked away in your nightstand or as a 20×30 wall portrait in your living room.
I’m not selling you a picture. I’m giving you an experience.
And because it’s hard for me to post anything without a picture…here is a photograph from Sarah’s lifestyle session. Stunning girl.
Jen also joined in on the Pin-Up Party Fun! Jen is the fabulous makeup artist that I work with regularly. All the makeup that you see in these pin-up party shots were done by Jen.
The other super fun thing about Jen’s shoot is that she was getting married (is married now)! So we themed her shoot to be retro bride chic. We also played around and had her dress like the “groom” a little bit, too. How cute are these???
To book your own Pin-Up Party, all you need is a few of your friends (minimum 4 girls, maximum 10) and a deposit to secure your date. For only $125 per girl, you receive a 20-minute boudoir shoot in one location, one high resolution digital image and an 8×12 wall print. Or for $195 you receive two 20-minute boudoir sessions in two locations and two high resolution digital images and one 12×18 wall print.
This is the same Pin-Up Party that Julia was a part of. I think we had about 6 girls–all of which I’m going to try to feature over the next few weeks. Eliza’s shoot was interesting…Liza and I have been friends for quite a while. She doesn’t wear makeup. She sees it as a misrepresentation of herself. In fact, she (and her sister who also joined in the Pin-Up fun) don’t even own foundation. Which is a pretty important part of preparing for a shoot. You know, the lights and camera can sometimes wash you out, blah blah blah.
Liza’s also a very modest person. Going out for drinks and dancing, she (like me usually) tends to wear casual cute clothing–not anything too revealing or tight. She chose to wear this Esther Williams bathing suit for her 20-minute session which photographed beautifully.
It just goes to show that your pin-up shoot or boudoir session can be anything you want it to be. It doesn’t have to be revealing or suggestive. It can be cute and fun and retro!
